Short answer: 3Commas is the bigger, longer-running platform. It has been around since 2017, focuses on crypto, and gives higher bot limits on each plan. It also starts cheaper, at $20/month. QuBot X is a smaller platform built around MetaTrader 5. Its plans count MT5 connections and include bots for gold (XAUUSD) and major forex pairs, and it also lists crypto exchange connections. If you only trade crypto and want lots of bots, 3Commas is probably the stronger fit. If you trade forex or gold on MT5 and want the bot to run on your own broker account, QuBot X covers something 3Commas doesn’t.

Pricing compared
QuBot X has three plans. Starter is $29/month, Pro is $59/month and Expert is $109/month. Yearly billing saves about 20%, which works out to $278, $566 or $1,046 a year. The plans grow mainly by the number of active bots (2, 6 or 12) and MT5 connections (2, 6 or 12). Starter bots trade XAUUSD (gold). Pro and Expert add GBPUSD and EURUSD. You can pay with crypto (for example USDT on TRON) and change or cancel your plan from your account.
3Commas also has three paid plans: Starter at $20/month, Pro at $50/month and Expert at $140/month. Yearly billing is shown as $15, $38 and $105 per month, which 3Commas describes as about three months free. Starter is spot-only on one exchange account. Pro adds futures and up to five accounts. Expert raises the limits to 1,000 active bots of each type and 25 accounts. 3Commas accepts cards and popular cryptocurrencies.
What this means: at the entry level, 3Commas is cheaper ($20 vs $29). It also gives more bots per dollar, especially on Pro and Expert. The QuBot X Expert plan costs less than the 3Commas Expert plan ($109 vs $140). But the QuBot X plan is sized around 12 MT5 accounts, and the 3Commas plan around very large numbers of crypto bots, so compare what you’d actually use.
Bot types
Both platforms cover the same four core bot styles:
- DCA bot: opens a position, adds safety orders as the price moves against you, and closes the whole deal at your take-profit. The QuBot X DCA bot lists up to 25 safety orders with volume and step scaling, trailing take-profit and stop-loss, and long or short on spot and futures. 3Commas offers single-pair and multi-pair DCA bots, and says its multi-pair bots can watch 100+ pairs.
- Grid bot: places a ladder of buy and sell orders inside a price range, for sideways markets. QuBot X lists arithmetic or geometric grids, auto-range and a stop-loss for the whole grid. 3Commas offers Grid bots on all paid plans.
- Signal bot: turns TradingView alerts, webhooks or (on QuBot X) Telegram signal channels into orders with your own risk rules.
- Smart Trade: one manual trade with several take-profits and a trailing stop-loss, set in one ticket.
Where they differ: 3Commas adds a manual trading Terminal, multi-pair DCA bots and much higher bot limits. QuBot X adds copy trading for forex and MT5 strategies (follow on Pro, follow and publish on Expert). It also lists built-in risk controls on every bot: max drawdown, daily loss limits, position caps and a kill switch.
Both platforms let you backtest before going live. 3Commas says it backtests on 1-minute candles. QuBot X plans list backtest history (1 year on Starter), and the QuBot X web app also supports paper trading with virtual funds.
Exchanges and brokers
On crypto, the two lists overlap a lot. Both list Binance, Bybit, OKX, Bitget, Gate, Kraken, KuCoin and Coinbase. 3Commas also lists Hyperliquid, a decentralised derivatives exchange. QuBot X also lists HTX spot (see all QuBot X exchanges and brokers). 3Commas splits its plans by market: Starter is spot only, and futures start at Pro. Both companies say availability can depend on your country.
For crypto, 3Commas is the more established choice, with years of exchange integrations and Fast Connect for some exchanges (such as OKX and Bybit).
MT5 and forex support
This is the clearest difference between the two.
3Commas lists only crypto exchanges as supported venues, and its help centre says a venue that isn’t on that list can’t be connected. We found no MetaTrader 5 or forex broker support on the 3Commas website. If you trade forex, gold or indices, 3Commas isn’t built for that today.
QuBot X connects to MetaTrader 5, so it works with forex, indices, metals and CFDs at MT5 brokers through its bridge. It also connects to cTrader accounts with Open API access. QuBot X says you link MT5 without giving your password, and you keep control of your withdrawals and your account.
If you want 3Commas-style automation on MT5, QuBot X fits that need directly. Check first that your broker allows automated trading.
TradingView integration
Both platforms can turn TradingView alerts into trades by webhook.
- 3Commas includes webhook execution on all plans and lists Pine Script® execution, so you can send strategy signals from TradingView into a Signal Bot. TradingView-based automation is one of its main strengths.
- QuBot X sends TradingView alerts to its Signal Bot by webhook, with a ready-made JSON template. TradingView webhooks are part of Pro and Expert, not Starter. QuBot X can also read signals from Telegram channels.
If TradingView and Pine Script are at the centre of how you trade crypto, 3Commas has the more mature setup. If you want TradingView alerts to place trades on an MT5 account, QuBot X Pro or Expert is the option of the two.
Security model
Neither platform holds your money. Both connect to an account you already own.
- QuBot X asks only for trade-only API keys, and rejects keys with withdrawal rights automatically. API secrets are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and never written to logs. Accounts are protected with two-factor authentication, session alerts and IP allow-lists.
- 3Commas says it can’t access your exchange account and can’t withdraw your funds. You connect with Fast Connect or manually with API keys, and its guide tells you to restrict keys to its IP addresses.
Whichever you choose, the basics are the same. Never enable withdrawal permission on a bot API key. Turn on IP whitelisting where your exchange offers it. Use 2FA everywhere.
A note for current 3Commas users
3Commas switched off its original platform (v1) on 11 September 2026 and moved users to a new v2 platform built in partnership with WunderTrading. According to 3Commas, strategies and API keys don’t carry over automatically, so v1 users need to rebuild their bots and reconnect their exchanges on v2. If you’re rebuilding anyway, it’s a reasonable moment to compare. If you trade only crypto, v2 may suit you fine.
Who should choose which
3Commas is likely the better fit if you:
- trade crypto only, especially futures, or want Hyperliquid
- want to run many bots at once (Pro allows 20 DCA bots, and Expert goes up to 1,000)
- build strategies in TradingView Pine Script and want webhook execution on every plan
- want the lowest entry price ($20/month) or a platform with a long track record
QuBot X is likely the better fit if you:
- trade forex, gold (XAUUSD) or CFDs on MetaTrader 5, or use cTrader
- want to run bots or copy trading across several MT5 accounts (up to 12 on Expert)
- want TradingView or Telegram signals to place trades on a forex account
- prefer to pay in crypto such as USDT on TRON
- want a bot built around your own strategy
If you trade both crypto and forex, you could use 3Commas for crypto and QuBot X for MT5. Just remember that running more bots also means more risk to manage.
Frequently asked questions
Is QuBot X a good 3Commas alternative?
It depends on what you trade. For forex, gold or CFDs on MetaTrader 5 or cTrader, QuBot X offers something 3Commas doesn’t list. For crypto-only trading with many bots, 3Commas has higher limits, a cheaper starter plan and a longer track record.
Does 3Commas support MT5 or forex?
Not as of 28 October 2026. The 3Commas supported-exchanges list has only crypto exchanges, such as Binance, Bybit, OKX and Coinbase. QuBot X connects to MetaTrader 5 and cTrader for forex, indices, metals and CFDs.
Which is cheaper, QuBot X or 3Commas?
3Commas starts lower, at $20/month vs $29/month for QuBot X Starter. At the top tier, QuBot X Expert is $109/month vs $140/month for 3Commas Expert. Both offer a discount for yearly billing. The plans include different things, so compare bot and account limits, not just the price.
Can QuBot X or 3Commas withdraw money from my account?
Both say no. QuBot X only accepts trade-only API keys and rejects keys with withdrawal rights, and MT5 connects without your password. 3Commas says it can’t access your exchange account or withdraw your funds. Your money stays on your own exchange or broker account.
Do both platforms work with TradingView alerts?
Yes. 3Commas includes webhook execution on all plans and lists Pine Script® execution. QuBot X sends TradingView alerts to its Signal Bot by webhook on the Pro and Expert plans, and can also read Telegram signal channels.
